Dr. Shahed is presently working as Head of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Dr. Rafiq Zakaria Center for Higher Learning and Advanced Research, Aurangabad. He has to his credit an overall experience of 20 years in the field of Mass Communication and Journalism including 16 years in teaching at Post Graduate level as permanent University recognized lecturer. He is also a reporter for globally leading news agency PTI as Aurangabad correspondent and chief of the Marathwada desk. Dr. Shahed also holds an experience of 9 years in Field reporting and editing in reputed daily Newspapers. He has reported stories from Crime, Politics, Local civic bodies, industrial sector, and court, Sports, Culture and Casualties. His area of interest includes Media Research, Translation from English to Hindi and Marathi, Reporting, Editing, Pagination and teaching Mass Communication and Journalism, Press laws, Electronic Media etc. As a research scholar, he has presented and published numerous research papers at National level.
